Monte Carlo simulation of a LSC based on stacked layers of fiber arrays with core-coating different absorbing properties

In this work, a Monte Carlo ray-tracing model for the simulation and optimization of fiber Luminescent Solar Concentrator (LSC) based on stacked layers arrays is developed validated. The LSC efficiency improvements are compared against conventional planar LSC. We new to analyze performance different configurations bulk-doped fibers constituted by doped coating passive core. These analyzed also varying packing geometry diameters, length. Due exceptionally low absorption coefficient silica (α wg ≈ 10 −4 cm -1 ), concentration factors up 1.9 predicted when dimensions scaled over 1 m 2 , which improve more than twice maximum factor ever reported. results serve as preliminary theoretical study future development design flexible micro-fibers coated with Si-QDs poly(lauryl methacrylate) (PLMA) layers.
